A Passion for Capturing the Moments in Between

My journey as a photographer began with a humbling realization. Early on, I attempted to take my first portraits and quickly saw the gap between my work and the professional photographers of the day. That moment of clarity wasn't a defeat; it was a call to action. It ignited a fire in me to constantly learn and evolve—a dedication I still carry with me today.

Photography isn't just a job for me; it's a way of seeing the world. For years, my love for art was on the back burner, a passion that wasn't being fed by my career. It wasn't until I discovered photography as an art form that I felt truly happy and whole.

My Philosophy: Art, Authenticity, and Connection

What I truly love about wedding days isn't the grandness of the event itself, but the search for the special moments that are easy to miss. I'm fascinated by the quiet, intimate glances, the genuine laughter, and the split-second instances where time seems to stand still.

My style is best described as refined documentary. While we'll certainly capture those essential posed family portraits, my true goal is to capture you being you. I want to deliver images that tell your raw, beautiful story. I've found that some of the most cherished photos are captured when you're not even aware the camera is on you. For instance, I love to tell couples to take a break  while I'm switching lenses, and in those five minutes of "downtime," they often relax into each other. They'll walk away hand in hand, or lean into each other for a moment of quiet respite—those are the moments I am secretly capturing. Those are the moments you will love forever.

Traveling for weddings is always fun, especially because no two are alike. The location and setting of a wedding offer a unique look into a couple's personalities, helping me tell their story with greater depth and authenticity.

The Feeling Behind the Photos

When I hand over a gallery, I'm the most nervous. It may be photos of you, but the quality and artistry of the images feels like giving a part of me. But when I see a client's face light up with a smile, or even tears, as they relive a moment I've captured, it fills me with an immense sense of purpose. My goal is for you to look at your photos a year, five years, or even a decade from now and say, "I knew we made a good choice to trust him."

In my downtime, you can find me on an adventure with my wife, Anita, and our rescue dog, Charlie. Whether it's hiking a new trail or finding a dog-friendly restaurant patio, these shared moments remind me of the simple, beautiful connections I strive to capture for my clients.

Photography isn't just about taking pictures; it's about creating meaningful art that contributes to the world. And it's an honor to do that for you.
